United States secured their second win of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup with a 31-run victory over Namibia national cricket team, knocking Namibia out of the tournament after their third straight defeat.

In the Group A clash in Chennai, the USA posted 199/4 in 20 overs after choosing to bat first. Sanjay Krishnamurthi starred with an unbeaten 68, while captain Monank Patel contributed 52. Shayan Jahangir added 22 to help the team reach a strong total.

For Namibia, Willem Myburgh and captain Gerhard Erasmus claimed two wickets each. Chasing 200, Namibia managed 168/6 in their allotted 20 overs.

Louren Steenkamp top-scored with 58, while JJ Smit made 31 and Jan Nicol Loftie-Eaton added 28. Jan Frylinck scored 19 and Zane Green contributed 18, but the target proved out of reach.

Shadley van Schalkwyk picked up two wickets for the USA, with Ali Khan, Saurabh Netravalkar and Shubham Ranjane taking one apiece.

With this result, the USA moved to four points from four matches and remain mathematically in contention for a Super 8 spot, though their qualification now depends on other results.

Namibia, meanwhile, exit the tournament after three consecutive losses.
