India crush Afghanistan by an innings and 300 runs

India completed a record innings-and-300-run victory over Afghanistan inside three days in Mullanpur, with debutant spinner Manav Suthar starring with a six-wicket haul and India's spinners dominating throughout the match. 

Resuming Day 3 on 113-5 and still trailing by 451 runs, Afghanistan were bowled out for 152 in their first innings. 

Rahmat Shah offered some resistance with a fighting 60, but Suthar ripped through the lower order to finish with outstanding figures of 6-33 on Test debut. Prasidh Krishna also chipped in with key wickets. 

Asked to follow on, Afghanistan started positively with an opening stand of 42. Sediqullah Atal made 42, while Rahmanullah Gurbaz contributed a brisk 24.

However, once Kuldeep Yadav broke the second-wicket partnership, Afghanistan's batting collapsed again. Rahmat Shah was the only other batter to reach double figures as the visitors were dismissed for just 112. 

Washington Sundar led the charge in the second innings with 4-36, while Kuldeep claimed 3-30 as India's spin attack wrapped up the match with ease. 

Earlier, India had declared on 564-8, powered by centuries from captain Shubman Gill (126) and KL Rahul (100).
