Australia cruise past Bangladesh with nine-wicket victory

Australia delivered a dominant all-round performance to defeat Bangladesh by nine wickets in Leeds, chasing down a modest target of 78 with more than 10 overs to spare.

After choosing to bowl, Australia tore through Bangladesh's top order. Kim Garth struck twice in her opening spell, while captain Sophie Molineux and Ellyse Perry picked up two wickets apiece to leave Bangladesh reeling at 29-5.

Captain Nigar Sultana and Ritu Moni added 32 runs for the sixth wicket to provide some resistance, with Nigar top-scoring with 27 and Ritu contributing 16.

However, regular breakthroughs prevented Bangladesh from building momentum as they finished on 77-8.

Australia's chase was spearheaded by opener Georgia Voll, who struck an unbeaten 45 off 32 deliveries. She found support from Player of the Match Perry, who followed up her two wickets with an unbeaten 19 from 15 balls.

The pair ensured there were no further setbacks after Beth Mooney was dismissed for 10.

Bangladesh's only success with the ball came through Marufa Akter, but Australia completed the chase in just 9.3 overs to secure a comfortable victory.
