Sooryavanshi firepower keeps Rajasthan alive in playoffs race

Vaibhav Sooryavanshi produced another sensational innings as Rajasthan Royals kept their playoff hopes alive with a thrilling seven-wicket win over Lucknow Super Giants on Tuesday.

Chasing a massive 221-run target, the 15-year-old star smashed a stunning 93 off just 38 balls, including 10 sixes, to put Rajasthan in complete control.

His explosive knock overshadowed Mitchell Marsh’s brilliant 96 for Lucknow earlier in the match. After Sooryavanshi’s departure in the 14th over, Dhruv Jurel guided the chase home with an unbeaten 53 off 38 balls, helping Rajasthan reach 225/3 in 19.1 overs with five balls to spare.

Earlier, Marsh and Josh Inglis (60 off 29) powered Lucknow to 220/5 with a 109-run opening stand, but Rajasthan’s bowlers pulled things back in the death overs to prevent an even bigger total.

The victory keeps Rajasthan firmly in the hunt for the final playoff spot, while Lucknow’s campaign is already over.
