Defending champions Lumbini Lions announce retention list for NPL Season 3

Defending champions Lumbini Lions have announced their retention list ahead of the third season of the Nepal Premier League as they look to defend their title.

The list is headlined by marquee player Rohit Paudel, who finished as the franchise's leading run-scorer during their title-winning campaign in the second season. Joint leading wicket-taker Sher Malla has also been retained.

All-rounder Dinesh Adhikari, who struck Dipendra Singh Airee for four sixes in the opening over of last season's final, has earned another contract with the franchise.

Left-handed batter Dilip Nath, Sundeep Jora, leg-spinner Tilak Bhandari and left-arm spinner Abhishesh Gautam complete the list of retained players.

Among those released are Bibek Yadav, who missed the second season through injury, along with his replacement Sumit Maharjan. Left-arm medium pacers Bishal Patel and Durgesh Gupta have also been released, as have Aadil Khan and Sameer Ali.

Retained players: Rohit Paudel, Sher Malla, Dinesh Adhikari, Dilip Nath, Sundeep Jora, Tilak Bhandari, Abhishesh Gautam.
