Tribhuwan Army Club and Sudur Paschim Province registered a win in the Koshi Province Trophy on Friday at Baijanathpur Cricket Ground.

The Army beat Karnali Province by 8 runs, while Sudur Paschhim outplayed Nepal Police Club by 52 runs.

Opting to bat first, Sudur Paschim ended up with a mammoth 183-8 in 20 overs. The Police could only manage 131-6 in the allotted 20 overs.

Opener Abhishek Pal scored 39-ball 58 for the Police hitting seven fours and two sixes. Narayan Joshi’s 12-ball 40 cameo launched Sudur to the match-winning total. He smashed six hits over the fence. Sharad Vesawkar struck three wickets for the losing side with figures of 3-20 in his four overs.

Shankar Rana’s unbeaten 90 off 61 balls went in vain. He slammed nine boundaries and five sixes. Dipak Chand (2-24) and Sher Malla (2-37) picked up two wickets apiece.

Basir Ahamed went all-around in the Army’s win. He scored 42 off 38 balls and returned the figure of 1-20 in his four overs.

Prakash Jaishi picked up two wickets, giving away 24 runs in his three overs for the losing side. Dipendra Rawat top-scored with an unbeaten 47 off 46 balls hitting three fours and two sixes.
