A stunning century from Vaibhav Sooryavanshi went in vain as Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) pulled off a thrilling five-wicket win over Rajasthan Royals (RR) in a high-scoring Indian Premier League clash.

Batting first, RR posted a massive 228 for 6, powered by Sooryavanshi’s explosive 103 off just 37 balls. The youngster reached his century in only 36 deliveries, smashing a six almost every third ball in a breathtaking knock.

He shared a 112-run stand with Dhruv Jurel, who contributed 51, but the rest of the batting unit failed to maintain the same momentum.

In reply, SRH chased down the target with ease, finishing at 229 for 5 with nine balls to spare. Despite an early setback with Travis Head falling in the first over to Jofra Archer, SRH recovered strongly through a dominant partnership between Abhishek Sharma and Ishan Kishan.

Abhishek scored 57 while Kishan led the charge with 74, as the duo added a match-defining 132 runs off just 55 balls. Their aggressive approach ensured SRH stayed ahead of the required rate throughout the chase.

Although Brijesh Sharma and Jofra Archer picked up two wickets each, RR’s bowlers struggled to contain SRH’s relentless batting.

With this win, SRH has climbed to 3rd whereas RR has slipped down to fourth.

Earlier, Punjab Kings succesfully chased 265 runs against Delhi Capitals to stay at the top, still undefeated.
