Sita bowls Nepal into the Semi-Final
Nepal thrashed Kuwait in a one-sided affair by 8 wickets (D/L Method) and placed in the Semi-Final of the ACC Women’s Premier Cup 2024. Nepal are a win away against Malaysia to confirm their spot in the ACC Women’s Asia Cup.
Having asked to bowl first, Nepal restricted Kuwait to the minnow score of 73 runs, taking 9 wickets in 20 overs. Nepal then raced away to 50 for 2 in 6.5 overs before rain halted the play.
Sita Rana Magar returned the figures of 3-11 in 4 over including a hat-trick to put the opponent out of the game. Rubina Chettry (2-10) and Kabita Kunwar (2-9) chipped in with two wickets apiece.
Kuwait once were marching towards the respectable total with 54 for 2 in 12 overs before losing the next 8 for only 19 runs. Opening batter, Priyada Murali top-scored with 33-ball 29 hitting three fours and a six.
Skipper Indu Barma scored an unbeaten 22 of 21 balls involving a four for the winning side. The player of the match, Sita, contributed 15-ball 17 smashing two boundaries.
