Gujarat Titans reached the final of IPL 2026 after defeating the Rajasthan Royals by seven wickets in the second qualifier on Friday, moving one step closer to the title. 

Chasing a target of 215 runs, Gujarat achieved it with eight balls to spare, losing only three wickets. Captain Shubman Gill played a brilliant innings of 104 runs off 53 balls, while Sai Sudharsan scored 58 runs from 32 deliveries. 

The pair shared a massive 167-run opening partnership. For Rajasthan, Brijesh Sharma, Jofra Archer, and Nandre Burger took one wicket each. Sudharsan was dismissed hit wicket off Brijesh Sharma’s bowling.

Earlier, after winning the toss and choosing to bat first, Rajasthan posted 214/6 in 20 overs. Vaibhav Suryavanshi starred with a superb 96 runs off 47 balls, hitting eight fours and seven sixes. 

He narrowly missed out on a century again after being dismissed for 97 in the previous match. Ravindra Jadeja remained unbeaten on 45, while Donovan Ferreira provided a late flourish with an unbeaten 38 off just 11 balls.

Ferreira smashed four sixes in the final over against Rashid Khan as Rajasthan added 27 runs in the last over.

For Gujarat, Kagiso Rabada and Jason Holder claimed two wickets each, while Mohammed Siraj took one wicket. 

Gujarat will now face the Royal Challengers Bengaluru in the final on Sunday at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, Gujarat’s home ground. 

Gujarat had lost to Bengaluru in the first qualifier, while Rajasthan had defeated the Sunrisers Hyderabad in the Eliminator.
