Punjab Kings defeated Lucknow Super Giants to keep their playoff hopes alive thanks to captain Shreyas Iyer's brilliant century.

Chasing a target of 197, Punjab Kings reached the total in 18 overs for the loss of 3 wickets. Captain Shreyas Iyer starred with a brilliant unbeaten 101 off 51 balls, finishing the match in style with a winning six to complete his century. 

Prabhsimran Singh contributed 69 runs, while Cooper Connolly added 18 not out and Suryansh Shedge remained unbeaten on 9. 

For Lucknow Super Giants, Mohammed Shami took 2 wickets, while Arjun Tendulkar claimed 1 wicket. 

Earlier, batting first after losing the toss, Lucknow scored 196/6 in 20 overs. Opener Josh Inglis top-scored with 72 runs, while Ayush Badoni made 43 and Abdul Samad remained unbeaten on 37. 

For Punjab, Marco Jansen and Yuzvendra Chahal took two wickets each, while Vijaykumar Vyshak and Azmatullah Omarzai picked up one wicket each. 

With this win, Punjab Kings climbed to fourth place with 15 points from 14 matches, keeping their playoff qualification hopes alive as the race intensifies heading into the final league games.
