Scotland registered a comfortable 73-run victory over Italy in a Group C match of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026 played on Monday at Eden Gardens, Kolkata.

Chasing a challenging target of 208 runs, Italy were bowled out for 134 in 16.4 overs. Ben Manenti top-scored with 52 runs, while Harry Manenti contributed 37, but the rest of the batting lineup struggled against Scotland’s disciplined bowling attack.

Michael Leask was the standout performer with the ball, taking 4 wickets for just 17 runs in his four overs. Mark Watt claimed two wickets, while Bradley Currie, Bradley Wheal and Oliver Davidson picked up one wicket each.

Earlier, Scotland posted an imposing total of 207/4 after being asked to bat first. George Munsey led the innings with an impressive 84 runs.

Brandon McMullen remained unbeaten on 41, Michael Jones added 37, and Leask finished strongly with an unbeaten 22 off just five balls.

For Italy, Ali Hasan, Grant Stewart, Thomas Draca and JJ Smuts each took one wicket.

With this win, Scotland opened their account in Group C, which also features Nepal. England and West Indies had already secured two points each earlier in the group after wins over Nepal and Scotland respectively.
