Sandeep Lamichhane opts out of central contract

Sandeep Lamichhane has decided to step away from his central contract with the Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN). The announcement came just hours after CAN held a farewell event for the national team’s Scotland tour.  However, the decision on his removal from the central contract will only be taken after the CAN board meeting

Sandeep was one of five players awarded with a Grade A contract for the first half of 2025, alongside Rohit Paudel, Sompal Kami, Dipendra Singh Airee, and Asif Sheikh.

CAN had contracted 33 men’s and 19 women’s players for the January-June period, with the next set of contracts to be determined based on performance.

In his social media post, Sandeep clarified that his decision is not an exit from cricket but a step toward personal and professional development.
