RR storm into the playoffs after Archer's allround brilliance
Batting first, Rajasthan posted a strong 205/8, thanks to late fireworks from Archer, who smashed 32 off just 15 balls. Earlier, Dhruv Jurel contributed 38 and Dasun Shanaka added a quick 29.
In reply, Mumbai suffered an early collapse after Archer struck twice in the opening over, removing Rohit Sharma for a duck and dismissing Naman Dhir soon after.
Suryakumar Yadav fought back with 60, while Hardik Pandya scored 34, but Rajasthan kept taking wickets at key moments.
Archer finished with brilliant figures of 3/17 to complete a match-winning all-round performance. Mumbai ended on 175/9, falling 30 runs short.
With the win, Rajasthan Royals move into the playoffs and will face Sunrisers Hyderabad in the Eliminator on May 27, while Mumbai’s disappointing season ends in ninth place.
This result also knocked out Punjab Kings and Kolkata Knight Riders from the playoff contention.
