Pokhara Avengers trust young Abhishek Tiwari and Arjun Kumal to bolster the lineup

After finishing second-last in the first edition, Pokhara Avengers entered the NPL 2025 mini auction with the aim of rebuilding their squad for a stronger campaign.

Their retention list was led by Kushal Bhurtel, Sagar Dhakal, Dinesh Kharel, Kiran Thagunna, Bipin Khatri, Trit Raj Das, and Aakash Chand.

All-rounder Abhishek Tiwari became Pokhara’s first pick, sold at his base price of 2 Lakhs. The franchise also secured local star Arjun Kumal, who is yet to make a significant mark in the shorter format.

The Avengers further added all-rounder Krishna Poudel and Sandeep Chhetri, both signed at the base price of 2 Lakhs.

Despite these additions, Pokhara still have gaps to address. A seasoned T20 batter for the top three and a pacer to partner with Aakash Chand remain key priorities. Their spin department, however, looks settled with left-arm orthodox duo Bipin Khatri and Sagar Dhakal, while Kushal Bhurtel can provide a handy leg-spin option.
