Openers script APF’s return to winning ways after three straight losses

Armed Police Force Club snapped a three-match losing streak with a commanding 10-wicket win over Karnali Province in the Men’s PM Cup in Janakpur.

Karnali’s decision to bat first never quite took off. They were bowled out for 107 in 36 overs, a total that always felt below par on a surface that offered some early movement but eased out later.

Arjun Gharti held one end together with an unbeaten 38 off 73 balls, striking three fours. He found some support from Dipendra Rawat, who made 25, as the pair added 56 runs for the sixth wicket to push Karnali past the 100-run mark.

Kamal Singh Airee led the charge for APF with 4 for 26, hitting consistent lengths and extracting enough assistance to trouble the batters. He was well supported by Abhishesh Gautam, who returned 4 for 34, while captain Rohit Paudel chipped in with a wicket.

Chasing 108, APF never allowed Karnali a look-in. Asif Sheikh and Dipak Bohara came out with clear intent and shut the door early, putting together an unbroken 108-run stand.

Asif led the way with 65, laced with 12 fours and a six, while Dipak’s 42 included six fours and two sixes. The chase was wrapped up without fuss, giving APF a much-needed lift in the tournament.
