Oman outplay hosts Nepal after Jatinder Singh’s 130
Nepal suffered their 14th defeat of the ICC Cricket World Cup League 2 as Oman registered a 102-run DLS win, while Oman recorded their 14th victory of the competition.
Batting first, Oman posted 305 for 8, led by skipper Jatinder Singh’s brilliant 130 off 96 balls, featuring 15 fours and 5 sixes. Jiten Ramanandi (43), Aryan Bisht (35) and Hammad Mirza (30) also made useful contributions to push the total past 300.
For Nepal, Sompal Kami returned 4 for 59, while Sandeep Lamichhane was economical with 2 for 24. Dipendra Singh Airee also chipped in with 2 for 56.
In reply, Nepal were put under pressure early by Oman’s left-arm spin trio of Shakeel Ahmed, Wasim Ali and debutant Nadeem Khan, slipping to 108 for 6.
Dipendra Singh Airee continued his fine form with a second consecutive fifty, top-scoring with 60 off 62 balls, including one six and seven boundaries. He was involved in a 45-run stand with Gulshan Jha.
Nepal were 155 for 7 in 36.5 overs when rain interrupted play, handing Oman a comprehensive 102-run win via DLS.
