Nepal drawn alongside Thailand and Indonesia in Asian Games Qualifier
Nepal have been placed in Group A alongside Thailand and Indonesia for the Asian Games Qualifier to be held in Singapore from May 31 to June 9.
The tournament comes immediately after Nepal complete the ongoing ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup League 2 leg at home against USA and Scotland.
Group B consists of Oman, Maldives and Singapore, while Group C includes Hong Kong, Bahrain and South Korea. Group D features Qatar, China and Uzbekistan.
The top two teams from each group will advance to the quarter-finals, with the four semi-finalists securing qualification for the Asian Games to be held in Japan from September 17 to October 7.
The qualified sides will join hosts Japan along with defending champions India, Bangladesh, Pakistan, Sri Lanka and Afghanistan.
According to reports from Times of Oman, Oman have named an all-Omani 14-member squad for the tournament for the first time under captain Sufyaan Mehmood.
