Nepal dominate USA to finish home leg of League 2

Nepal have completed their home matches of the current ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup League 2 leg after a dominant 122 run win over USA. With the win Nepal have managed 24 points from 28 matches with two away legs still remaining in Netherlands on July and in Oman later on October.

Electing to bat first, Nepal posted their record first innings total 317/8 from fifty overs before bowling out the visitors fot 195 in 41.2 overs.

Ishan Pandey led the batting for Nepal scoring his second consecutive fifty in his 84 off 83 deliveries which included eight boundaries and a six.

Captain Rohit Paudel also made a composed 46 in a 110 run stand with Ishan for the third wicket.

A late flourish in the last 10 overs saw Nepal score 105 all thanks to Dipendra Singh Airee's 36 ball 59 which featured six hits over the fence and as many boundaries which took the score past 300.

Shubhman Ranjane stood out with the ball for USA returning 3/61 from his 10 overs while Milind Kumar and Rushil Ugarkar chipped in with a wicket each.

USA's chase was carried by a lone fight from Sanjay Krishnamurthy who made 56 off 44 with four boundaries and same number of sixes. Noshtush Kenjige also added gritty 29 of 50 balls. Both partnered for 70 runs for the eighth wicket.

For Nepal, Sandeep Lamichhane did the damage to USA batters in the chase with 3/30 in his 10 overs. Left arm spinner Lalit Rajbanshi was economical with his 2/38. 

Gulshan Jha returned 2/32, Dipendra Singh Airee managed 2/26 while Sompal Kami chipped in with a wicket to bowl out USA for 195.

Nepal managed three wins from the leg against USA and Scotland out of this two came against USA.
