Nepal and Hong Kong, China share a point

The first match of the Hong Kong China Twenty20 Tri-Series between Nepal and Hong Kong China washed out without yielding a result.

After being invited to bat first, Hong Kong scored 65-2 in 8 overs before rain halted the play.

Karan KC sent back the host’s opener, Martin Coetzee (duck), on the very first over of the innings before skipper Nizakat Khan and Anshuman Rath added 61 runs for the second wicket. Karan returned the figures of 1-19 in his three overs. Gulshan Jha was the other wicket-taker for Nepal, with figures of 1-18 in his two overs.

Rath remained unbeaten, with a 24-ball 36 hitting four boundaries and a six. Khan scored 25 off 20 balls, including three fours and a six.

Nepal and Hong Kong, China are facing Papua New Guinea on March 12th.
