Nepal ‘A’ batting collapse as Ireland Wolves race away with series win

Matthew Humphreys displayed an extraordinary bowling performance to outplay Nepal ‘A’ by 114 runs on Friday at TU International Cricket Ground in the second match of the One-Day Series. Ireland Wolves clinched the three-match series with a match in hand.

Nepal bowlers did a decent job of bundling out Ireland Wolves on 174 runs in 38.4 overs after inviting the visitors to bat first. In response, They could only bat for 16.5 overs to score 60 runs.

Humphreys picked six wickets, leaking only eight runs in his 4.5 overs including a maiden. Fionn Hand (2-14) and Thomas Mayes (2-18) did the rest with two wickets apiece.

Bhim Sharki (17 off 21) and Binod Bhandari (16 off 19) only scored in double digits for the home side.

Earlier, Rijan Dhakal returned the figures of 3-30 in his eight overs. Shahab Alam also picked three wickets, giving away 35 runs in his 10 overs. Despite being hit for 60 runs in 7.4 overs, Mousom Dhakal took two wickets.

Gavin Hoey scored fifty for the winning side in 59 balls hitting two sixes and five boundaries.
