Virat Kohli returned to form in style, smashing an unbeaten 105 off 60 balls to guide Royal Challengers Bengaluru to a six-wicket win over Kolkata Knight Riders in the IPL.

Chasing 193, RCB reached 194/4 in 19.1 overs, with Kohli hitting his record-extending ninth IPL century and third hundred while chasing.

The victory moved defending champions RCB back to the top of the points table with 16 points, virtually sealing their playoff spot.

Earlier, KKR posted 192/4 after strong performances from Angkrish Raghuvanshi, who scored 71 off 46 balls, and Rinku Singh, who remained unbeaten on 49.

However, their total proved insufficient against an in-form RCB batting line-up. Kohli dominated the chase from the start and shared a crucial 92-run partnership with Devdutt Padikkal, who made 39.

Despite a few chances for KKR, Kohli stayed in control and completed his century in 58 balls, also becoming the fastest player to reach 14,000 T20 runs.

The defeat ended KKR’s four-match winning streak and left their playoff hopes hanging by a thread.
