Kathmandu Gurkhas lock in core group for NPL Season 3 led by Karan KC
Kathmandu Gurkhas have announced their retention list ahead of the third season of the Nepal Premier League, retaining six players from their previous squad.
The list is headlined by marquee player Karan KC, with Aadil Alam also earning retention after being one of the most sought-after picks in last year's auction, where he was signed for Rs 15 lakh.
Bhim Sharki, all-rounder Rashid Khan and left-arm spinner Shahab Alam have also been retained as the franchise looks to maintain continuity within its core group. Young all-rounder Santosh Yadav completes the list of retained players.
Meanwhile, Kathmandu have parted ways with Aakash Tripathi, Sonu Devkota, Pratik Shrestha, Dipesh Kandel, Uttam Thapa Magar and Tul Bahadur Thapa. Sonu Devkota had joined the squad as a replacement for talent hunt player Natarajan Shah during the previous season.
Retained players: Karan KC, Aadil Alam, Bhim Sharki, Rashid Khan, Shahab Alam, Santosh Yadav.
Released players: Aakash Tripathi, Sonu Devkota, Pratik Shrestha, Dipesh Kandel, Uttam Thapa Magar, Tul Bahadur Thapa.
