Kathmandu Gorkhas snap up auction hot picks Aadil Alam and Santosh Yadav

After missing out on the playoffs in the first edition, Kathmandu Gorkhas faced the tough challenge of strengthening their squad in the mini auction. The team had retained key players including Karan KC, Bhim Sharki, Dipesh Kandel, Pratik Shrestha, Shahab Alam, and Rashid Khan.

Kathmandu were arguably the luckiest side in the auction as two of the hottest picks, Mohamad Aadil Alam and Santosh Yadav, came their way through the lucky draw after fierce bidding.

Aadil was the standout, attracting bids from eight franchises before going to Gorkhas for 15 Lakhs.

Their other three signings included Akash Tripathi, Uttam Thapa Magar, and Tul Bahadur Thapa.

Aadil’s inclusion adds significant lower middle-order power to Kathmandu’s batting. Along with Karan KC and Pratik Shrestha, the team now boasts some solid finishers.

However, the top order and pace bowling still appear to be areas of concern and will likely be addressed by overseas recruits.
