Karan fires Nepal to consecutive wins
Karan KC led from the front with three wickets to his name, firing Nepal to a 27-run win over Baroda on Tuesday at Sai Meghan SportsLife Ground in the third match of SMS Friendship Cup 2024.
Nepal put up a challenge of 156-6 in 20 over after being asked to bat first. Baroda fell 27 runs short and only managed to score 129 runs in 20 overs.
Kushal Malla’s blistering unbeaten 25-ball 40 helped Nepal to recover from 79-4 in 12 overs. Sundeep Jora also contributed a handy 29 off 16 balls.
Baba Khan picked up two wickets, leaking 23 runs in his four overs.
Nepal picked up five wickets and reduced the opponent to 29-5 in six overs. Baroda batted through to the 17th over with only five down, scoring 105, and were asked to add 47 off the last 16 balls. They could only manage to score 24 runs in that phase.
Karan KC picked up three wickets, giving away 24 runs in his four overs. Sompal Ki returned the figures of 2-20 in his four overs.
Bhanu Pania top-scored with 38 off 26 balls for the losing side.
