India registered their second consecutive victory in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026 after defeating Namibia in a high-scoring encounter in New Delhi.

After Namibia captain Gerhard Erasmus won the toss and chose to field, India piled up a formidable 209/9 in 20 overs. Ishan Kishan led the charge with a blistering 61 off just 24 balls, smashing six fours and five sixes.

Sanju Samson contributed a quick 22 at the top, while Kishan and Tilak Varma (25) added a rapid 79-run partnership in only 31 deliveries to give India a flying start.

In the middle overs, Hardik Pandya continued the momentum with an aggressive 52 from 28 balls. He shared an 81-run stand with Shivam Dube (23), pushing India beyond the 200-run mark.

Namibia fought back strongly at the death, reducing India from 205/5 to 209/9. Erasmus starred with the ball, claiming 4/20 in four overs and playing a key role in Dube’s run-out.

Chasing a daunting target, Namibia began positively through Louren Steenkamp and Jan Frylinck, who scored quickly to take the team to 57/1 in the powerplay, their highest powerplay total in T20 World Cup history.

Frylinck made 22 off 15 balls before being dismissed by Arshdeep Singh. India’s spinners then turned the game decisively. Varun Chakaravarthy struck with his very first delivery and later removed Jan Nicol Loftie-Eaton (13) and JJ Smit in quick succession, dismantling Namibia’s middle order.

Axar Patel added further pressure by dismissing Erasmus and delivering a wicket-maiden over. Jasprit Bumrah finished things off with a trademark yorker to remove Trumplemann for 6 as Namibia’s chase faded.

With this comprehensive win, India strengthened their position in the tournament standings and maintained an unbeaten start to their campaign.
