Fundraiser to support ailing cricketer Kundan Singh

The Nepali community in Qatar is raising fund for ailing Province 2 cricketer Kundan Singh, who miraculously won his battle against Corona Virus.

Kundan had lost both kidneys and few days earlier it was found that he had also contracted Corona Virus. But on Tuesday, doctors discharged Kundan from the BP Koirala Institute of Health Sciences where he was shifted after contracting the disease.

He has been in dialysis at the Janakpur Region Hospital. The Nepali community in Qatar has fixed a charity game this Friday to financially support the 25-year old cricketer. The match will be played between Nepali community as Nepali Cricket Club (Nepal-XI) and Al- Ikhtiyar XI which includes a majority of Indian expats.

Nepali Cricket Club is an active club in Qatar and it said it will also be chipping in for Kundan irrespective of whatever is raised during the charity game.

The club has already raised a substantial amount prior to the game. The match will be played at the Sayliyah Cricket Ground after 3:00 PM.

Kundan had also lost his parents and is looked after by his maternal relatives. But they cannot afford his medical expenses. The kidney transplant alone is going to cost him Rs 1.5 million to Rs 2 million.

Many fund raising campaigns have been set for him with more than one million collected so far.
