Canada secured a thrilling two-wicket victory over the Netherlands on Wednesday in their ICC Men's Cricket World Cup League 2 encounter at King City.

Chasing a target of 215, Canada’s hopes hung in the balance in the final over of a tense run chase.

With the home side precariously placed at 212-8, needing three runs off the final two balls, tailender Kaleem Sana became the hero of the day by launching a dramatic six off the penultimate ball to seal the win with just one delivery to spare.

Earlier in the match, Canada won the toss and elected to field, successfully bowling out the Dutch side for 214 runs in 48 overs.

Netherlands captain Scott Edwards top-scored for his team with a resilient 58, while Matthew Spoors led the Canadian bowling attack with figures of 3 for 42.

In response, Canada's chase was anchored by a brilliant, player-of-the-match performance from wicketkeeper-batsman Shreyas Movva, who hit 83 runs off 108 balls.

Despite a late batting collapse that saw the Netherlands fight back, Sana's final-over heroics ensured Canada crossed the finish line to finish on 218/8.
