CAN announces their squad for Hong Kong series including few new faces

The Cricket Association of Nepal unveiled its squad for the upcoming Hong Kong Men’s T20 International series, starting from 10th March in Hong Kong. The series will involve Nepal, Papua New Guinea, and the host Hong Kong, China.

Rohit Kumar Paudel will lead the side with Lokesh Bam and Aakash Chand getting the national team call.

Nepal have rested six regular players from their existing 18-man squad who are taking part in the ongoing Tri-Nation Twenty20 series. The regular opener, Aasif Sheikh, and premium All-Rounder, Dipendra Singh Airee are given rest for the series.

Apart from them, Sompal Kami, Kushal Malla, Anil Kumar Sah, and Lalit Rajbanshi won’t be with the squad in Hong Kong.

Nepal will face the home team, Hong Kong China, in the series opener on 10th March. They will move to Papua New Guinea’s challenge on 12th March with the top two sides playing the final on 13 of the same month. The other team will play against Hong Kong China ‘A’ on the same date for third place.

Before the series, Nepal will play against the host for one one-off Twenty20 match, named as Friendship Cup on 9th March.
