CAN announces Nepal ‘A’ team with six uncapped players

The Cricket Association of Nepal announced the Nepal ‘A’ team including six uncapped players. Binod Bhandari will lead the side against Canada at Mulpani Cricket Ground.

The fixture of the event is yet to be out officially but it is expected to get underway in a few days.

Kiran Thagunna, Mayan Yadav, Sujan Thapaliya, Ashutosh Ghiraiya, Arjun Kumal, and Sher Malla are among the six uncapped players. Kiran, Mayan, Sujan, and Ashutosh will be donning the national jersey for the first time, while Arjun and Sher have already represented Nepal in age-level cricket.

Ashutosh was the second-highest run-scorer, after Anil Kumar Sah, in the, recently concluded Prime Minister Cup with 382 runs in 9 matches including a century and two fifty-plus scores. Kiran registered three fifties in the same event with 287 runs altogether.

Sujan slammed two half-centuries and a hundred-plus in the sixth edition of the PM Cup with aggregated 262 runs. He notched up the ton against the Nepal Police Club and became the first ever player to do so against the Police in the tournament’s history.

Skipper Bhandari is the most capped player on the list with 17 One Day International Matches under his belt.
