Madhesh Province registered their first win in the Men’s PM Cup 2026 with a five-wicket victory over Sudurpaschim Province in Birgunj on Wednesday, chasing down 161 inside 34 overs to collect their opening points of the campaign. Sudurpaschim, meanwhile, slipped to their first defeat in the competition.

Batting first, Sudurpaschim were bowled out for 160 in 43.2 overs after failing to convert their starts into a bigger total. Abhishek Pal top-scored with 33 off 45 balls, hitting five boundaries before being run out, while Kuran Thagunna (23), Narayan Joshi (23) and Ashok Dhami (19 not out) chipped in to keep the innings going.

In the chase, Madhesh found themselves under pressure at 56/4 after Sher Malla and Ashok Dhami picked up two wickets each to rattle the top order.

Aadil Alam (34) and Arniko Yadav (46) then added 53 runs for the fifth wicket to steady the innings and guide Madhesh closer to the target.

Sher Malla finished with 3/26, while Ashok Dhami took 2/53, but Madhesh held on to complete the chase and secure their first win of the tournament.
