Prakash knocks Armed Police out of top-four race
Karnali Province performed collectively to upset the Armed Police Force by 21 runs in the Prime Minister Cup 2080 on Wednesday at TU International Cricket Ground.
Put in to bat first, Karnali Province were restricted to 206 runs in 44.1 overs. The departmental derby were moving closer to victory with 185 for 7 in 43 before Prakash Jaisi cleaned them up with three wickets in the next over to bundle them out.
Prakash summed up with the match-winning figure of 4-9 in three overs including two maidens. Unish Singh (2-38 and Dipendra Rawat (2-39) also chipped in with two wickets apiece in the winning cause.
Aasif Sheikh was comfortable driving his team home with a score reading of 179-6 in 41 overs before he departed for his 112-ball 108. He smashed 10 fours and two sixes. Amar Rautela was left stunned at one end with an unbeaten 28 off 71 balls hitting a six.
Earlier, Himanshu Shahi top-scored for the winning side with 62 off 50 balls including seven sixes and two fours. Arjun Gharti recorded a half-century to his name, with 53 from 74 balls hitting three sixes and a four.
Mausam Dhakal took three wickets, giving away 32 runs in his 9 overs.
