Nepal women register third win in women's challenge trophy

Nepal registered their third win in the ICC Women’s Challenge Trophy after defeating Rwanda by 38 runs on Tuesday. 

Chasing a target of 104, Rwanda were bowled out for 65 in 17.4 overs, with Mary Bimenyimana top-scoring with 19 runs. 

For Nepal, Manisha Upadhyay starred with the ball, taking 4 wickets for 10 runs in 4 overs, while Kabita Kunwar, Rachana Chaudhary and Riya Sharma picked up two wickets each. 

Earlier, after winning the toss, Nepal posted 103/7 in 20 overs. Captain Indu Barma led the innings with an unbeaten 33, while Kabita Kunwar scored 24 and Rubina Chhetry added 11. No other batter reached double figures. 

For Rwanda, Henriette Ishimwe claimed 3 wickets, while Mary Bimenyimana took 2. Belise Murikatete and Rosine Irera grabbed one wicket each. 

Nepal had also beaten Rwanda earlier in the tournament. However, they lost both matches against the USA, defeated Italy, and suffered a loss to Vanuatu. 

With this win, Nepal now have 6 points from 6 matches and still have games remaining against Italy and Vanuatu.
