Nepal women register hard fought victory against Malaysia
Chasing a modest target of 68, Nepal reached 68/8 in 17.3 overs. Smriti Khadka top-scored with 32 runs, while Ruby Poddar contributed 15 and Kavita Joshi added 6.
For Malaysia, Nur Qalisha was the standout bowler with 3 wickets for 21 runs in her four overs, while Aisya Alisa and Elsa Hunter claimed two wickets each.
Earlier, after winning the toss and opting to bat first, Malaysia were bowled out for just 67 in 16.5 overs. Elsa Hunter was their highest scorer with 10 runs, while captain Mas Elysa made 8, and Mahirah Izzati and Erdina Beh added 7 runs each.
Nepal’s bowlers led the charge, with Pooja Mahato taking 3 for 13 in four overs.
Riya Sharma and Manisha Upadhyay picked up two wickets apiece, while Kavita Kunwar and Sita Rana Magar chipped in with one each.
